Stavelot to Stoumont Scenario

After reading the scenario book for Rapid Fire Battle of the bulge I found a good basis for a scenario.

I am focusing on the action between Stavelot and Stoumont and the baord will include both towns at opposite ends of the board. I chose 6mm so I could work on the critical action between Stavelot and Stoumont while including La Glaize and Trois -Ponts. The idea being the Germans not only need to punch throughbut alos need to focus on protecting their supply routes, as American forces drove from several points and the Germans had to constantly double back. I also have a skirmish game planned fo rthe actions in and around Krinkelt, but I am burned out on painting 20mm scale and wanted a game on a more grand scale.

The 6mm scale - I have no experience with the scale, I did order from GHQas I want metal figures and they have the most extensive range. Shipping from the UK is cost prohibitive.

Rules: Fisful of TOWS 3.

The Gaming Area - Each square is about 6.7 inches of game space. The rules state that 1 inch equals 1 yard so each square is 670 yards. I may compress the actual map just a bit as I want the 3 major towns of Stoumont, Trois-Ponts and Stavelot included and represented on the board.

14 squares long is 91 inches or 9,100 yards which is 5.1 miles of the map

7 squares wide is 45.5 inches or 4,550 yards which is 2.6 miles of the map.

German Forces:  I am missing the 3rd Fallschirmjaeger units from the OOB. I plan on bringing them in randomly as a special game event. Other forces will be added as additional research is complete.

American Forces: Some of these forces will start at La Gleize or Stoumont. Other units will enter randomly to threaten the German supply routes. I will get the starting positions as close a possible the historic locations. I am also contemplating the 82nd airborne located at Trois-Pont which would enter as the Germans approched the town. This sheet is just a starting point.
